alpaca in New Zealand Janice Gillgren has published a new stock image: alpaca in New Zealand.
These are some alpaca in Northland, New Zealand. The photo was taken on the day they are to be shorn. They live together with the sheep on this farm, which have been brought to the fenced area for shearing as well.
The alpaca is native to South America, but there are some alpaca herds in New Zealand.
Alpaca fibre is similar to wool, and is very warm for its weight, making its fleece quite valuable.
