|Janice Gillgren has published a new stock image: four alpaca to be shorn.
These are four alpaca in Northland, New Zealand. The photos are taken on the day they are being shorn, and these alpaca are all waiting their turn. They live together with the sheep on this farm, which have been brought to the fenced area for shearing as well.
The alpaca is native to South America, but there are some alpaca herds in New Zealand.
Alpaca fibre is similar to wool, and is very warm for its weight, making its fleece quite valuable.
