Red-clay kiln fired bricks form the Northern abutment of the heritage rail bridge over Tenterfield Ck in N. New South Wales. The Great Northern Railway on the New England Tableland was extended from Glenn Innes to Wallangarra in Queensland between 1883 and 1889. This bridge was part of that work. Since cessation of services time hasn't been kind to the timber superstructure with major stress evident to the naked eye. While it remains it speaks proudly of the romance of rail in a bygone era.
